Smile

Posted by ks on Aug 31st, 2009

Ninety percent of how we are perceived is our attitude!..Without even realizing it, we can run around doing a million things each day with a frown on our faces. Are we unhappy? Not necessarily. Stressed? Probably. I always try to remind myself to smile. Smiles are contagious. The more I smile, the better I feel, and the more others see smiles, the more likely they will smile in return. Try it!!

School Nerves

Posted by ks on Aug 26th, 2009

Going back to school is an exciting time and can also be a time for children to get nervous. I suggest a few tips to help get rid of the anxiety :
Be organized- make sure everything is labeled, all school supplies are ready to go in the back pack. Lunches are made and in the fridge..clothes are out the night before
Sleep-Get to bed early..when we are tired everything is magnified!
Eat Breakfast- send you children off in the morning with some nutrition and conversation. Make sure you communicate with them in the morning all that needs to be said.
Pray- we pray on the way to school..nice way to start the day
For Parent:- get up 15 minutes earlier to be awake yourself so you are ready to help send your children off to school happy.

Schedule Full Already?

Posted by ks on Aug 3rd, 2009

Feel like your plate is already full and the school year hasn’t even begun? Take a deep breath and get organized.

Take an hour to get yourself organized. Make a chart, graph or start with a fresh calendar to get your mind clear on what it is you’ve got next. The worst thing you can do is to keep going without a pause. Take the time to write our your to-dos, your appointments, your due dates for school paperwork, shopping lists, games, practices, pick-ups and drop-offs. Make sure it’s something that you can easily veiew when at home and perferribly take with you on the road.

Knowing what you have not only today, but next week and next month will help you relax even if it’s packed full. Being organized and busy is much easier on our stress levels than being cluttered and busy.

Clear the clutter, clear your mind.
