Reasons Why Kids Lie

Posted by ks on Oct 26th, 2009

Kids lie for a variety of reasons, but some of them include:
To avoid punishment or consequences that may happen if they tell the truth
To avoid tasks(like homework)in order to do something more pleasurable.
To get something they want.
To impress others, children may tell tall tales to make themselves look good.
To protect friends or family members.
Modeling a parent or someone else that lies.
There are ways that we can encourage truth telling. Always model telling the truth, even if it is difficult. Praise the truth when it is told. Let them know the value of the truth above all that lying is worse than the misbehavior.

Nagging is unatractive!

Nagging becomes a mode of communication for some couples. Instead of speaking directly to each other or addressing issues directly, they resort to indirect expressions of frustration that push each other’s buttons and do more harm than good. Try to break the NAG cycle! Try to turn your complaint into a suggestion, and your accusation into a request. Doing so takes energy and creativity, but a relationship without a nag is a relationship in which both people stand on equal footing!

Never forget…it is not the things you get, but the hearts you touch that will determine your success in your life.

Hi God

Posted by ks on Oct 4th, 2009

As we go through our lives we are usually too busy to recognize and acknowledge signs from God. They are there for certain, however we must be aware and looking for them. To pray is a real good way for God to speak to and through us! And to see the signs. At dinner, we go around the table and ask everyone where did they see God today?..these are called glimpses of God..G.O.G. You may see God in a good test grade, a great play on the field, a compliment from another person. YOU may be a glimpse of God for someone else. Look for your G.O.G’s and when you see one..say “Hi God!”
